Just a few days ago, we welcomed over 200 guests—closer to 250!—to celebrate the grand opening of our Downers Grove location, and the energy throughout the day was nothing short of incredible. From longtime partners to new community connections, the event was a powerful reminder of how far Skyway has come in just three years—and how much more we’re ready to do.
A Day to Remember
The day kicked off with a steady flow of guests welcomed by our Downers Grove concierge team and immediately swept into personalized tours of the space. Whether it was the Neuromodulation Center where Dr. Schwab and Lauren P. introduced guests to what a Spravato® journey looks like, or the programming spaces where Skokie Program Managers answered questions about our PHP/IOP programs, each area came to life thanks to the incredible staff presence throughout.
The Downers Grove team—small but mighty—greeted visitors outside our yoga therapy space, offering a look into one of the calming, restorative elements of our treatment model. Guests were also invited into “the landing place,” an area that embodies the supportive, client-centered approach that defines Skyway.
Throughout the afternoon, Kate Barse, Terran, Dr. Prinz, Kendale, Monika, and others led groups through the space, offering both clinical context and personal connection. Tours wrapped up in the client kitchen area, where the celebration continued with food, drinks, and live music.
And then, the big moment: Alexandra welcomed the crowd, followed by heartfelt speeches from our co-founders Terran, Dr. Schwab, Laura, and Julie, before Chamber 630 hosted the official ribbon cutting.

A Team That Shows Up
One of the most meaningful parts of the day? The number of Skyway team members who came out to celebrate—some driving nearly two hours from Skokie just to be there. Their presence didn’t go unnoticed.
“Multiple providers commented on how special it was to see so many staff show up to support this new location—it really says a lot about the culture at Skyway.”
Also in attendance were the designers and art program directors, who were all smiles hearing how beautiful the new space turned out. And it’s true—the feedback was overwhelming. “Gorgeous,” “warm,” “purposeful,” “healing”—just a few of the words we heard again and again.

A Milestone Worth Toasting
This moment isn’t just about a new building. It’s about what that building represents.
In under three years, Skyway has grown from a single-location vision to a thriving, multi-site treatment provider, known for trauma-informed care, specialized programming, and authentic relationships with the communities we serve. Opening Downers Grove is more than an expansion—it’s a recommitment to our mission of helping clients rediscover life beyond survival.
As we approach our three-year anniversary at the end of this month, we’re filled with gratitude. To our team, our partners, and everyone who joined us in Downers Grove—thank you for being part of the journey. We can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings.
